I'm a Computer and Information Systems instructor at Cabrillo College. My goal is to teach paperless classes. You can find all of my course materials here.

  • ** CIS 195 MIDTERM INFO **
I'm sorry about the CCC Confer fail today. I wasn't able to record the class and, because it's an important one, I'm going to try to get a recording up sometime on Friday. Here's what you need to know about the midterm:
It will be taken online (using Blackboard)
    • You will have three hours to take it (I expect you will need about 1.5). Once you open it you must finish.
    • You can start it between the beginning of class and Friday evening. The exact due date will be on blackboard.
    • You can use your book, notes and Internet. You cannot use your friends.
The material in the midterm will all be in your book. The best way to study is using your book. Take the quizzes at the end of the chapters. If you pass those easily you have nothing to worry about in the midterm. Please use the respite you have on the lab schedule to dedicate some time to studying. Today's lecture will be on the midterm (but I won't make it a big portion of it).

  • CIS-195 Lab Tempates
Templates for Lab 2 have been placed into the Templates folder in VMware. They are named in the same way as your book. Please delete old VMs when you're done.

  • Network Assignments are Available
If you're in CIS-192 or CIS-195 your private networks have been assigned. You can see the assignments by clicking the link near the top of the course page. Or you can find them here:

  • We're Running Low on Space!
Please delete the VMs you are not using using the option shown in the picture. If there are any VMs that you're not using (i.e. you're in 191 and you just finished Lab 1) please trash them ASAP!

  • Blackboard is Setup
I've setup Blackboard for each of my classes and the first lab is posted. Only CIS 194 has a graded first lab because of permission problems with the rest of the class. Please try to get onto blackboard and tell me how it goes.

  • Course Calendar Has Links
It's the first day of school! I've put all of my courses into the calendar on the Fall 2013 page. The calendar events have links to CCC Confer conference pages. Please use them to get into class if you're logging in remotely.

To access the links click the course you are in and a bubble will expand with the details. If you follow the "more details" link in the bubble it will take you to a calendar page where the link is clickable. The bubble forces you to copy and paste the link.
